NPC Random Raids
Use the special item at your own base and an armed NPC raid force, the “Cobalt Scientists,” surges toward your base! Amid raining rockets, C4, attack helis, and MLRS, it’s a high-difficulty PvE event that tests how long your prized fortress can hold. The base itself becomes the battlefield—ready your defenses, steel yourself, and take it on.
First, check the vibe with video & images
See the actual raid flow first
The moment you use the item, an NPC force swarms the base. Amid flying gunfire, rockets, and blasts, check the rhythm of holding the defensive line with your crew on video. It makes the event much easier to grasp, even on a first look.
What kind of event is this?
🏰Your base becomes the battlefield
Instead of appearing somewhere on the map, your base itself comes under attack. The true defensive strength of the base you protect day to day gets tested.
🤝Teamwork is the key
Using the item requires a minimum number of people authed on the Tool Cupboard (TC). It can’t be started solo—it’s designed so you must take it on with teammates.
🪖5 difficulty levels
5 levels, Easy to Nightmare. The higher you go, the more the NPC numbers, gear, and firepower spike, bringing in attack helis and even MLRS for a full-on defense.
[IMPORTANT] Notes before you start
⚠ Run it where there are no other players’ bases nearby
Always run this event where no other players’ bases exist nearby. The NPCs don’t pick targets—they’ll also attack structures other than your base and players who happen to pass by.
For that reason, running it where another player’s base is nearby is absolutely forbidden. In the unlikely event NPC attacks destroy someone else’s base, at the very least please collect the dropped items for them.
How to start the event
🛒Steps to start
- Open the “Special” category of the VIVIDUS ONLINE SHOP
- Buy the “NPC Raid ◯◯” item at the difficulty you want to take on
- Use the purchased item inside your own base
- The moment you use it, the event starts instantly! The NPCs begin their assault on the base
When the raid begins, it’s announced to the whole server in chat, and a raid marker goes up on the map. The other players will know your base has become a battlefield.
To use the item, you must meet the per-difficulty requirements for the number of people authed on the Tool Cupboard (TC) and the base’s minimum size (number of building blocks). If you don’t meet them, it shows “base too small” and won’t start, so build up your base before you take it on.
5 difficulty levels ─ which will you take on?
The further down, the more NPC numbers, HP, and firepower ramp up, with attack helis and MLRS joining for a full-on base defense. Easy is the easiest, but without a decent amount of gear, ammo, and base defense, you’ll get steamrolled even on Easy. None of these are difficulties to take lightly, so start from a level that fits you.
| Difficulty | Buy cost | TC auth size | NPCs (per wave) | Special forces | Time limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| EASY | Scrap 100 | 2 | 10 | Juggernaut ×1 | ~10 min |
| MEDIUM | Scrap 200 | 2 | 15 | Attack Heli + Juggernaut ×1 | 15 min |
| HARD | Scrap 300 | 3 | 20 | Attack Heli + Juggernaut ×1 | 20 min |
| EXPERT | Scrap 400 | 4 | 30 | Attack Heli + MLRS + Juggernaut ×2 | 25 min |
| NIGHTMARE | Scrap 500 | 5 | 40 | Attack Heli + MLRS + Juggernaut ×2 | 35 min |
The “NPCs” in the table is the count per wave. The raid comes in 2 phases, so your total opposition is about double this. Plus the Juggernaut (an enhanced boss) joins in.
EXPERT and NIGHTMARE are another beast! MLRS rockets rain down on the base, and the Juggernauts increase to 2. The required size is large at 4–5 people—a true all-out battle. Half-baked gear gets broken in an instant.
Event progression ─ from start to defense complete
💥 Use the item to start the raid
The moment you use the item inside the base, the event starts instantly. The phase-1 NPC force swarms the base, storming in with gunfire, rockets, and C4/satchels. A server-wide notification and a map marker fire at the same time.
🔫 Meet the first wave
Hold off the surging NPCs with turrets and your own gunfire. Depending on difficulty, the Juggernaut (enhanced boss) also appears in this phase. Killed NPCs drop items like ammo, so collect them as you fight.
🌊 About 2 min later, the second wave hits
Once a set time (about 2 min) passes from the first phase, the phase-2 assault begins. Note that the second wave starts even if you haven’t killed all the phase-1 enemies. There’s almost no time to regroup. Prep ammo, healing, and repair materials with plenty to spare from the start.
🏆 Drive off all NPCs to win
Wipe out the NPCs in every phase and the defense is a success! One supply box drops from above. Collect it as proof you held the base. Note that if you don’t finish them off within the time limit, the NPCs withdraw and the event ends.

- CounterRide it out with a tough multi-layer structure
The NPCs break walls with rockets and C4 to get inside. Don’t rely on the outer wall alone—setting up multi-layered walls, turrets, and a heal/repair system is the key to a successful defense.
About surrendering (force-ending the event)
🏳 Surrender command
If you’re losing and feel “I can’t hold anymore,” you can end the event with the surrender command. Type /surrender in chat. The trick is to run it near your own base (the event).
💰 Surrender costs 200 scrap
But surrendering requires 200 scrap. You can’t surrender without it, so before the event starts, always make sure you’re holding 200 scrap. Pay it and the NPC force withdraws immediately.
Rewards at the end of the event
🎁 Successful defense drops a supply box
Drive off the entire NPC raid (successful defense) and one supply box drops from above. Inside is loot that proves you held the base. On top of that, don’t overlook the ammo and items dropped by the NPCs you killed during the raid—collect it all. The aftermath of the battle becomes a treasure trove all your own.
Tips & cautions
On your first try, feel out the flow on Easy. That said, don’t let your guard down even on Easy. Always sort your gear and ammo before starting.
Phase 2 starts even before you finish off the enemies. There’s no time to regroup, so stock consumables with plenty to spare before you start.
The NPCs blast through walls with rockets and C4 to get in. A single outer wall isn’t enough. Slow their entry with a multi-layer structure and deal with the chip damage.
Auto turrets are powerful defenders. Keep them fully loaded and positioned to cover the directions you’ll be attacked from.
A heavy boss with 500–700 HP. Chip at it slowly and you’ll get pushed back. Focus your firepower with your crew and take it out fast.
MLRS rockets fall from above. Reinforce the roof and upper floors so the bombardment doesn’t break your defensive line.
Splitting into a “defense role” and a “repair role” keeps things stable. The higher the difficulty and required size, the more directly teamwork translates to survival.
If you decide you can’t hold, minimize the damage with /surrender (200 scrap). Pulling back is a valid tactic too.
